Knitting for good

Avice Meehan shows off her beautiful contribution to A Wider Circle.

It’s been a while since we talked about it, but don’t forget we’re still collecting handmade items for A Wider Circle. We’re thrilled to be able to contribute to a local organization that is doing so much good. If you haven’t heard about our partnership with A Wider Circle, take a second to go back and read this post on the blog. It should answer all of your questions.

But before you do that, take a gander at the gorgeous blanket that Knit & Stitcher Avice Meehan contributed to the project (above). Avice is a member of the Thursday night knitting group, and this beautiful log-cabin style blanket will make a mother and baby very cozy. The Thursday group also contributed two other blankets — members contributed squares that were sewn together.

Baby items make great summer projects — they’re small, quick and easy to travel with. If you want suggestions for good items for A Wider Circle, stop by the shop and we’ll give you more ideas than you ever wanted! And if you’re interested in experimenting with log-cabin squares like Avice’s, we can get you started on that too.
