KNITTING
CLUBS
NEW CLUBS!!
To make knitting even easier for you, we are starting several yarn clubs. The price of
the club reflects a 10% discount from the regular price of the yarn and book. Each of
the clubs will include a book for the basis of the patterns. Each Club last for 6 months.
Each month you can pick-up( or we will send for a nominal charge) the yarn of the
month. On the first Sunday of each month(11am-1pm), the various clubs will meet- you
can pick up your yarn, or get help, or just have fun knitting!
To sign up, call the store- 301 652 8688!
Sock Club
We will base our first season on the book "Knitting Vintage Socks" by Nancy Bush.(If
you already have the book you can purchase trade it for another book of equal value).
The series will include a mixture of machine and hand-dyed yarns, different fibers,
solids and patterns. The cost will be $95.
Afghan Club
This club will be based on the book "100 Afghan Squares to Knit." We will have 3 levels
of the club, designed to meet your taste and/or pocketbook(for those of you who want
to drink champagne on a beer budget) You pick which yarn level you want and a
colorway or one color. Manos- $107, Pure Merino - $70, LP Worsted - $63
Fun Club
For the adventurous, we will have a small project each month. It may be a bowl or small
purse... a penguin- who knows. This club is aimed at developing different skills on each
project.
Book Club
Are you a knitting book junkie? Sign up for our book of the month club. You will get a
new book each month. The charge each month will be the cost of the book, less the
10% club discount.
NEW YARNS
"Lifestyle" has combined creative patterning with a lovely washable merino. It knits up
like some of the sock yarns- solid blocks of color leading to what looks like fairisle
knitting. I have seen it knit up in both a children and adult size and it is way cool. We
have added 2 new yarns that we will carry year-round. "Dolchino" is a ribbon that is a
pleasure to knit with and creates a beautiful, light garment. "Merino Cotton," is (you
guessed it) a wool cotton blend that is machine washable and knits at 4.5 stitches per
inch, making it perfect for either adult or children's garments.
I've gone a little crazy with sock yarns this season. By popular demand I have solid
colors that you can purchase by the skein. We are now carrying Great Adirondack's
sock yarn "Silky Sock." This hand-dyed yarn comes in deep rich hues with a slight
sheen. We should have a new Bamboo-wool sock yarn in next week as well as a cotton
sock yarn that has no wool content.
